Will of Uriah Stuckless
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 169 & 170 probate year 1914.

In re
     Uriah Stuckless       deceased.

I Uriah Stuckless of Pilley's Island in the district of Twillingate, Newfoundland being of sound mind memory and understanding, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following.
First I hereby direct and empower my executor to sell and dispose of all my Personal property and real estate at auction or private as soon as practicable after my death, and as it may in his judgement seem most advantageous or for the interest of the herein after named.
Second I give devise and bequeath to my wife Martha for her support the sum of ($75.00) Seventy five Dollars annually during her life time or as long as the proceeds from the sale or disposal of the above named personal property and real Estate together with all other monies belonging to me at the time of my death shall warrant subject only to the payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the charges of proving and registering this my will.
Third I hereby give and bequeath to my son Elias Cranford in the event of my wife's death before the whole of the monies above named shall have been expended in the manner as herein stated all the residue then in the hand of the Executor of this my last will and testament.
Fourth I hereby appoint Elias C. Stuckless Executor of this my last will and testament
In witness whereof I Uriah Stuckless the testator have to this my last will and testament set my hand and my seal this ninth day of April A.D. 1913. - Uriah Stuckless - Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Uriah Stuckless as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names at his request, as witness thereto in presence of said testator and of each other Rev. Albert J. Waterman Pilley's Island   Levi H. Stuckless Pilley's Island.

Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills. They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.

We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be.
