Last will and Testament of
John Stack of Conception Harbor N.D.
Fisherman deceased

      In the name of God Amen I John Stack of Concepn. Harbor, Conception Bay, Fisherman in perfect memory and understanding God be praised) do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First. I give and bequeath all the real and personal estate including my waterside property, consisting of dwelling house out-houses and land to which I shall be entitled at the time of my death to James Mahoney of Conception Harbor aforesaid.
Secondly I give and bequeath the western half of my waterside property to my nephew John Walsh.
Thirdly I give and bequeath the residue thereof to James Mahoney aforesaid.
Fourthly. I do ordain and make Mr. William Kennedy sole Executor of this my last will and Testament.
Fifthly. I give and bequeath the balance due to me by the estate of the late Mr. P. Nowlan, deceased of Brigus to my executor, Mr. Wm. Kennedy aforesaid for the following purposes.
(First) the sum of forty dollars is to be paid for masses for the repose of my soul.
(Secondly) my funeral expenses and outstanding accounts including the sum of four dollars due by me to my nephew John Walsh aforesaid are to be paid out of the remainder.
(Thirdly) The remaining balance if any is to be paid to James Mahoney aforesaid.
Sixthly. I do revoke all former wills of mine and publish this to be my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand this Sixteenth day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ninety Six. (Sgd) John his X mark Stack. Signed and delivered as the last will and Testament of John Stack aforesaid in the presence of us who at his request in his sight and presence and in the presence of each other have signed our names as witnesses. Sgd. Martin Kennedy (Sgd) Nicholas his X mark Rochford.
