Will of Bridget M Sinnott

Last Will and Testament of
Bridget Sinnott of St. John's
Widow deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Bridget Sinnott of St. John's widow. I revoke all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. I give devise and bequeath the sum of Two thousand eight hundred dollars out of the monies standing to my credit in the Newfoundland Savings Bank to my sister Mary Turner to hold in trust for my son John H. Sinnott to be paid to him by her upon his attaining the age of twenty five years. And in the event of my said son John dying before attaining the said age of twenty five years then the said amount shall be retained by my said sister Mary Turner for her sole and separate use, but out of the said money she shall pay all the funeral expenses of my said son. I give and bequeath to my said sister Mary Turner the sum of eight hundred dollars out of the monies standing to my credit in the Newfoundland Savings Bank for her sole separate and absolute use and behoof. I give devise and bequeath to my said son John the piece of land situate on the Topsail Road which said land was conveyed to me by Campbell MacPherson under deed dated the twelfth day of April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and eighty three I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred dollars of the monies standing to my credit in the Newfoundland Savings Bank to my sister Mary Turner for the purpose of having masses celebrated for the repose of my soul. The residue of my estate including all monies that I may die possessed of after payment of the before mentioned bequests I give and bequeath to my said sister Mary Turner to be held by her in trust for my said son John to be paid to him by her at her discretion and in amounts and at the times she shall deem fit. In the event of the death of my said sister Mary the monies bequeathed to her in trust for my said son John shall be paid to my brother Thomas to hold in trust for my said son John and upon the like conditions as my said sister Mary would hold the same. I appoint Patrick McGrath of St. John's Cooper executor of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at St. John's aforesaid this sixth day of February Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and ninety three (sgd) Bridget M. Sinnott. Signed Published and declared by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request and in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto.
