Will of James Shortall Last Will and Testament of In the name of God Amen. I James Shortall of Brien Street St. John's Newfoundland master cooper, make this as and for my last will and testament, after the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses I will devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary for her life time all and singular lands, houses, goods, monies and chattels of which I shall die possessed or entitled to, to have and to hold to her for and during her natural life. On the death of my said wife the said lands houses goods and chattels shall become the property of my sons Peter J. Shortall, and W.P. Shortall share and share alike as tenants in common. I appoint my beloved wife Mary Executrix of this my said last will and testament. Dated at St. John's aforesaid this third day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety nine. (Sgd) James Shortall Signed and declared as his last will and testament by the testator James Shortall in presence of us (after the same had been read over to him by P.J. Scott) who in presence of each other and of the testator and at his request sign as attesting witnesses (sgd) P. J. Scott (sgd) Thomas P. Jackman. I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of James Shortall deceased D. M. Browning (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
