Will of Alexander Fraser Shirran
from Newfoundland will books volume 9 pages 216-217 probate year 1911

In re
      Alexander Fraser Shirran         deceased.

      This is the Last Will and Testament of me Alexander Fraser Shirran of Saint John’s Newfoundland.
First. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Isabella Fraser Sclater the dwelling house on Theatre Hill in which I reside together with its household furniture and contents: and I give devise and bequeath to my son William Shirran the house in Dicks Square St. John’s now occupied by him and also the house at Bell Island let to the Government.
I give and bequeath to my said daughter and to my said son the sum of Five thousand five hundred dollars each to be paid out of my interest in the business carried on by me in partnership with Joseph Pippy at Bell Island

  • I give and bequeath to the Trustees of Gower St. Methodist Church to sum of Five hundred dollars:
  • and to the Methodist College St. John’s I give the sum of Five hundred dollars:
  • to the Methodist Orphanage St. John’s I give the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars:
  • and I give to the fund for the Deaconesses at Gower Street Methodist Church the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars.

I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my estate property and effects to my said children Isabella Fraser Sclater and William Shirran equally, and I appoint them the said Isabella Fraser Sclater and William Shirran Executors of this my will     In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand at Saint John’s Newfoundland aforesaid this twenty second day of February one thousand nine hundred and eleven A. F. Shirran    Signed     Published and Declared by the said testator as and for his Last will in our presence who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other hereto subscribe as witnesses.
