Will of James Samson
from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 14-15 probate year 1927

In re
     JAMES SAMSON.     DECEASED.

Last Will and Testament of James Samson.

I James Samson, Fisherman of Flat Island, Bonavista Bay, being of sound mind and memory hereby make this my last Will and Testament.

I give and bequeath to my nephew James Sidney Samson, my dwelling house and contents of said dwelling house. It is my wish however that one blue painted chest and my bedding and bed should not be removed from said dwelling house or sold.

I give and bequeath to my nephews, James Sidney Samson, and Garland Samson my stage, Store, Waterside premises and land, same to be divided equally between them.

My Salmon nets and gear for the same I bequeath as follows -
Three Salmon nets with gear for same I leave to James Sidney Samson.
Three Salmon nets with gear for same I leave to James Hallett my nephew.
Four Salmon nets with gear for same I leave to John Hallett, my nephew.
I bequeath to Harry Hallett son of my nephew James Hallett one gun a 14 gage Breach loader.
I give to Arthur Sidney Butt, son of Thomas Butt my other gun a muzzle loader.
My clothing I give and bequeath to my nephews James Sidney Samson and James Hallett same to be divided between them as they may agree upon in a quiet and peaceable manner.
I give and bequeath my watch to ------------ James Hallett, my nephew.
Any money which may be left in the Bank after all my funeral expenses, including the purchase of a suitable headstone and all just debts paid I bequeath to my nephews James hallett, and James Sidney Samson and my sister Elizabeth Cheater same to be divided equally between them.

I hereby appoint James Hallett to be sole executor of this my last Will and Testament.

Any money which may be left by me in my house I give and bequeath to Sarah Hallett and Adelaide Butt same to be divided equally between them.

Signed by the Testator in the presence of the witnesses and signed by the witnesses in the presence of the Testator and of each other this fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and twenty seven.
