Last Will of John Ryan late of
Ferryland, Stipendiary Magistrate

      In the name of God. Amen. This is the last will and Testament of me, John Ryan J. P. of Ferryland District of Ferryland and Island of Newfoundland.
First. I bequeath the (moiety) sum of sixty dollars to Father Vereker for masses for my poor soul and ten dollars additional for masses for my nearest relations (In case of Father Vereker's inability, then to any priest, whom my executors may select.
Second. To John E. Pradden Esq. Altairs Cottage 32 Rathgar Avenue, Dublin Ireland, I bequeath the sum of thirty pounds stg ($146) in trust for my guardian friend, in the usual manner (in case of his inability to act, then to his brother Bartholomew, same address, and for same purpose of.
Third. With the exception of the two preceding items I devise and bequeath all my estate and effects, real and personal, which I may be possessed of, or entitled to, unto my only child and daughter Mary B. Ryan, absolutely.
And I hereby revoke all former wills and codicils. I appoint James F. Ryan Esq. Merchant St. John's and my daughter Mary B. Ryan aforesaid, executor and executrix respectively of this my will.
