Will of Mary Ann Ross
from Newfoundland will books volume 9 pages 358-360 probate year 1911

In re
      Mary Ann Ross          deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Mary Ann Ross of Harbor Grace in the Island of Newfoundland. My will is that, first, my just debts be paid by my Executors, hereafter named.

  • I give and bequeath to Maysie Archibald wife of W. S. Archibald of Antigonish Nova Scotia the sum of Four Hundred Dollars.
  • I give and bequeath to my niece Bessie Wood the sum of One Hundred Dollars.
  • I give and bequeath to my sister Harriet Godden the sum of One Hundred Dollars.
  • I give and bequeath to my sister Elizabeth W. Josselyn the sum of One Hundred Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to my niece Thyra Josselyn the sum of Fifty Dollars.
  • I give and bequeath to Bessie Godden, daughter of my nephew Charles Godden the sum of Fifty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to Fannie Cron daughter of James Cron the sum of Fifty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to Susanah Ross wife of Thomas Ross the sum of Fifty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to Isabelle Ross wife of Joseph Ross the sum of Fifty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to Margaret Ross daughter of Thomas Ross the sum of Fifty Dollars.
  • I give and bequeath to my cousin Sarah Knight of Poole England, the sum of Forty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to Ann Walsh my old servant the sum of One Hundred Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to my former servant John Parsons the sum of Twenty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to Marjorie Parsons daughter of John Parsons the sum of Twenty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to John M Ross son of Thomas Ross, the sum of Twenty Dollars
  • I give and bequeath to the New Church of England High School the sum of Twenty Dollars
  • I will and bequeath to Fanny Cron my six blue Cups and saucers that came from Ireland.
  • I will and bequeath to my nephew Charles Godden my piece of land at Birchy Hill near Bannerman Lake
  • I give devise and bequeath all the Residue of my estate equally between my sister Harriett Godden and Elizabeth W Josselyn

And I do nominate and appoint my nephews Charles Godden and Ernest Godden as Executors of this my last will and Testament     In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name at Harbor Grace, Nfld this Twentieth day of June A.D. nineteen Hundred and Eleven. Mary Anne Ross    Signed published and declared by the said Mary Anne Ross as her last will and Testament in the presence of us, who in her presence at her request and the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses     Albert Heath    John Casey
