Will of Margaret Rogers
from the Newfoundland will books volume 10 page 124 probate year 1913

In re Margaret Rogers      deceased.

This is the last will and Testament of me Margaret Rogers of the South side of St. John's widow. I give devise and bequeath all the the property of every description of which I may die possessed of to my two daughters Maud Roberts And Agnes Rogers to be divided equally between them. And I appoint my said daughter Maud Rogers Executrix of this my will
Dated at St. John's this 9th day of June A.D. 1913. - Margaret her X mark Rogers -
Signed by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other and at her request have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses. The same having been first read over and explained Thomas Fennessey.     George T. Carty

Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills. They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.

We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be.
