Will of Reverend John Roe, Parish Priest,
from Newfoundland will books volume 9 pages 279-280 probate year 1911

In re
      John Roe          deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Reverend John Roe Parish Priest of Harbor Main Newfoundland after the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses    I give devise and bequeath as follows:
(1) To my housekeeper Catherine Walsh and her daughter Veronica in consideration of their long and faithful service the sum of five hundred dollars each
(2) To the Christian Brothers of St. John’s the sum of one thousand dollars
(3) To the Principal of All Hallows College Dublin the sum of Two thousand dollars to be held in Trust by him and the interest thereon applied to the education of Priests for Newfoundland
(4) To Mount Cashel Orphanage St. John’s the sum of Two hundred dollars
(5) To the Orphanage at Belvedere St. John’s the sum of two hundred dollars
(6) To the Catholic Ecclesiastical Fund of Newfoundland whatever amount I may be indebted to said fund
(7) To my Executor hereinafter named the sum of five hundred dollars to be applied by him in the celebration of masses for the repose of my soul
(8) To my Executor hereinafter named the sum of two hundred dollars to be applied by him in the celebration of Masses which I may have forgotten or through some other cause did not celebrate
(9) To the Convent at Littledale St. John’s the sum of Two hundred dollars
10 To the Catholic Church Extension Society of Canada the sum of five hundred dollars
(11) To the Catholic Parishes of Harbor Main and Northern Bay Newfoundland the sum of two hundred dollars each
(12) The residue of my estate and effects to the said Catherine Walsh and Veronica Walsh
I appoint Michael P Gibbs of St. John’s Barrister at Law Executor of this my will
Harbor Main May 24 : 1910    Joe Roe     Signed by the said Testator as and for his last will and Testament in our presence who in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses     John T. Hogan    M. P. Gibbs
