Will of John Rodway from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 444-445 probate year 1929 In re DECEASED. THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of John Rodway I HEREBY revoke all WILLS made by me at any time heretofore. I appoint my sons John Richard Rodway, and Edgar Thomas Rodway, both fishermen of Baine Harbour, to be my executors, and direct that all my Debts and Funeral Expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. I GIVE AND BEQUEATH unto my son Edgar Thomas, my dwelling house situated at Baine Harbour, with all its furniture, lands, cattle and other Buildings owned by me situated at Baine Harbour, except such lands as are herein after otherwise bequeathed. I further provide that in consideration of the above, that my son Edgar Thomas Rodway, shall assume the responsibility of providing my son Lemuel Roy Rodway with a home, as long as the said Lemuel Roy Rodway, shall remain single, and acknowledge the necessity of a Guardian, but should the said Lemuel Roy Rodway marry, the responsibility of the said Edgar Thomas Rodway thereto shall cease, and the said Lemuel Roy Rodway shall relinquish all title to, the above named property as previously provided. Further I give and bequeath to my son John Richard Rodway all that piece and parcel of land owned by me, but at present occupied by him, that is to say, that bounded on the North by Samuels Smiths property, extending south by the waterfront one hundred and twenty feet more or less to where my fishing stage is situated, thence easterly one hundred and thirty feet more or less, to a rock situated at the Northern end of my cellar, thence Northerly sixty feet more or less to a point bound by the Northern side of the Road leading to my well, thence in an easterly direction to the extreme limits of my holdings. Further I give and bequeath all Cash held in my possession, and in any Bank
or Banks, to my five children to be equally divided between them, that is to
say: John Richard Rodway one fifth, Mrs Mary Ann Andrews one fifth, Mrs Clara
Jessie Whittle one fifth, Edgar Thomas Rodway one fifth, and Lemuel Roy Rodway one fifth. CORRECT (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
