John Wesley Roberts deceased.
I John Wesley Roberts of Twillingate
(North Island) In the District of Twillingate Newfoundland, being of sound
mind and memory, do make and publish and declare this to be my last will and
Testament in manner and form following that is to say.
- I
give and devise to my wife Louisa Roberts, the dwelling house situate on North-Side
Twillingate to gether with all the land owned or that may be in my possession
at my death.
- I give and bequeath to
my said wife, all the house-hold goods, furniture and effects
which shall at my death be in or about my house.
- I
also give and bequeath to my said wife all the money that may
be in my possession at my death.
- All the rest residue and
remainder of my real or personal estate I give devise and bequeath
to my said wife Louisa Roberts her heirs and assigns forever
- I
also appoint and constitute Messrs. Titus William Manuel and
Frederick Linfield as my executors of this my last will and Testament
In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this
the twenty fourth-day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and ninety seven (sgd) John Wesley Roberts (LS) Subscribed by the testator in presence of each of us, and at the same
time declared by him as his last will and Testament Witness our hands
and seals this the twenty - fourth day of July 1897 (sgd) Nathaniel

Whereas I John Wesley Roberts, did on the 24th day
of July 1897, make my last will and testament I do now by this writing
add this Codicil to my said will, to be taken as a part thereof.
(1)
That in event of my said wife Louisa Roberts and my
self being suddenly called away while on a sea - voyage or elsewhere
after all my just debts and demands together with my funeral expenses
are paid, and a tomb stone erected to our memory. I
give and bequeath to my sister Amy Martin Fifty dollars.

After paying above expenses and legatee I give and bequeath to my Father
or Mother, the remainder of my life policy, but in event of both being
deceased then it is to be equally divided between my surviving brothers
(3) I give and bequeath to my oldest sister Selina Crab of
Mortons Hr. One hundred dollars.
(4) I give and devise
my dwelling house and all the land owned by me on the north Side
of Twillingate together with all erections thereon unto Edward
Linfield (son of Frederick Linfield) his heirs
assigns and administrators forever.
(5) I give and bequeath all my clothing
and tools unto my brothers to be equally divided amongst them
(6) I give
and devise unto Bella Linfield (daughter Frederick
Linfield) all my household
furniture together with all household effects not mentioned elsewhere
in this will or Codicil for her sole use and benefit forever.
(7) That
Edward Linfield be residuary legatee of any things personal
or real not mentioned in the foregoing will or Codicil In witness hereof, I have hereunto placed my hand and seal this
nineteenth day of July 1899 A.D. (Sgd) John W. Roberts.

John Wesley Roberts, as and for a Codicil to be annexed to his last will
and testament and we, at his request, and in his presence and in the
presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto,
