Last Will and Testament of
Patrick Roach of Branch
Planter deceased.
In the name of God Amen I Patrick Roach of
Branch being of sound mind but feeling my last end draw near do hereby make
my last will and testament. To my dearly beloved wife Ellen Roach I
give and bequeath all the property real or personal that I may die possessed
of whether land, fishing, household property stock or of any other nature or
kind for her use and benefit during the term of her natural life.
To my son
William Roach after my wife's death as aforesaid, I leave one half of my fishing
property, the whole consisting of one stage - three stores, two flakes and
a beach, and deducting one half of the meadow known as Sullivans or such portion
of it as may be in my possession and the meadow near my house known as the
Hill meadow. I bequeath one half of the remainder of my land to him my son
William as aforesaid.
To my son Joseph Roche I give and bequeath
after my wifes death as aforesaid a like share both of land and fishing property
as that already devised to my son William.
To my son John
Roach I give and bequeath one half that portion of the meadow known
as Sullivans now in my possession
To my daughter Mary Roach I give and bequeath
that meadow near my dwelling house known as the Hill Meadow. Also to her my
daughter the said Mary Roach I give and bequeath my dwelling house with all
the furniture, household goods and utensils contained therein provided always
that none of these bequests is to come into force until after my wife's death.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal at Branch
on this second day of February A.D. 1892. (Sgd) Patrick x Roach (LS) In presence
of (sgd) Peter Sinnott (Sgd) T. F. Roache.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct
copy of the last will and Testament of Patrick Roach deceased
