Will of William Rideout Last will and Testament of In the name of God Amen. I William Ridout of Long Pond, South Shore Conception Bay Planter, do make this my last will and Testament: that is I give and bequeath unto my wife Agnes Jane Ridout all my lands, messuages and tenements and chattels to be freely possessed by her as long as she remains a widow and at her death or marriage I desire all the said lands messuages and tenements to be delivered to my son Albert Ridout as and for his own, on condition that he provides a home for his sisters as long as they remain unmarried and require a brothers protection I likewise constitute F. F. Furneaux the sole Execut of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of April 1881. (sgd) William his X mark Ridout (LS) Signed Sealed and published and declared by the said William Ridout as and for his last will & Testament, the same having been read over in presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names (sgd) Edward his X mark Porter. I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of William Rideout deceased Registrar (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
