Will of William Frederick Rennie
from Newfoundland will books volume 7 pages 139-140 probate year 1902

Last Will and Testament of
William F. Rennie of St. John's
Gentleman deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me William Frederick Rennie of Saint John's Newfoundland, made this eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety four. I hereby revoke all wills by me at any time made. I appoint Robert John Rennie and John W. Withers to be my executors and direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. I give and bequeath unto my son Frederick William Rennie all that piece of land situated five miles west of St. John's aforesaid bounded on the south by the old Topsail Road on the East by land belonging to the estate of the late Patrick Keough on the north and west by land the property of the crown and measuring two hundred and seventy acres or thereabouts. To my son the said Robert John Rennie I give all my household furniture including pictures and plate and the gold watch at present in his possession. I also give to the said Robert J. Rennie the silver centerpiece presented to me by the directors of the St. John's Gas Light Company to be held by him during his lifetime and upon his decease to become the property of his eldest surviving son and in case of there being no son surviving him to become the property of such member of the family as he the said Robert J. Rennie may select and failing such selection or appointment the same to become the property of the next of kin of the said Robert J. Rennie.

To my son William Hoyles Rennie I give all my books portfolios of prints photographs and water colour drawings with all drawing materials and drawing implements and such paintings as may be in my study at the time of my death and all tools and wood working machines in my workshop.
To my niece Mrs. Jean Heggate I give all money arising from my Life policy in the Canada Life assurance Company. The residue of my property I give share and share alike to my children by the marriage with Catherine Thorburn McNab. In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my hand on the day and in the year first before mentioned and declare this to be my last will and testament (sgd) W. F. Rennie. Signed published and declared by the said Testator in our presence who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other hereunto subscribe ourselves as witnesses. (Sgd) William H.
