Will of Francis Rendell from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 538-539 probate year 1929

.

This is the last will and testament of Francis Edward Rendell of St. John's Newfoundland.

I give and bequeath to my son Arthur Charles Rendell and interest in the business now carried on by me under the style of W & G Rendell including ten thousand dollars of the capital of said business and all other assets and goodwill thereof subject nevertheless to the following charges and conditions viz;-

(1) The said Arthur C. Rendell shall during the lifetime of my wife Lilian Maud Rendell pay her as an income the sum of one hundred dollars monthly out of said business.
(2) All my share of the profits of the said business for the current year in which my death shall take place I give and bequeath to my wife Lilian Maud Rendell and the same shall be at the end of the said current year paid to her.
(3) To my son Hubert Francis Rendell he shall pay the sum of two hundred dollars per annum out of the profits of the said business from the beginning of the year after my death, but should my son Arthur C. Rendell take him into partnership in the said business this annual payment shall cease from such time.

I give and bequeath all my other property viz:- Amount on deposit in the business, life insurance, shares and stocks in outside businesses, household furniture and motor car to my wife Lilian Maud Rendell for her own use and to do as she pleases with.

The clock presented to my father by the Phoenix Assurance Co Ltd and which was bequeathed to me I give and bequeath to my son Arthur Charles Rendell.

The Cottage on the Torbay Road being the property of my wife Lilian Maud Rendell she shall also have the furniture and other contents of said property.

I give to my son Arthur Charles Rendell my executor for his trouble in carrying out my will the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars.

I nominate my son Arthur Charles Rendell executor of this my will revoking any former will made by me at any time.
Dated at St. John's Newfoundland this second day of June one thousand nine hundred and twenty seven
