Last will and Testament of
Francis A. Read of LaPoile S.D.
Gentleman deceased

      I Francis A. Read of LaPoile in the District of Burgeo and LaPoile in the Island of Newfoundland being of sound mind and memory do this day make this my last will and Testament in form following that is to say.
1. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Susan Read all monies now in my possession and all monies belonging to me with interest thereon now lying in the Bank of Montreal.
2. I further give devise and bequeath to my said wife Susan Read all my personal property, such property to be at her disposal during her natural life and at her death all monies then remaining and all property to be divided equally amongst my five sons and two daughters.
3. I give devise and bequeath to my two sons George and Philip Read to be divided equally amongst them all my wearing apparel.
4. I further positively state that my Grand daughter Selina Mary Dicks is to be provided for out of the above named monies to my credit in the Bank of Montreal during such time as she remains unmarried and at her marriage or death the said monies to become the sole property of my beloved wife Susan Read.
5 I hereby appoint Susan Read sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this ninth day of June one thousand eight hundred and ninety seven. Signed Francis A. his X mark Read. Signed by the said Francis A. Read in the presence of us, and at the same time declared by him to be his last will and Testament. Witnesses (sgd) J. C.       I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Francis A. Read deceased.
