Will of Joseph Power The last will of Joseph Power late of This is the last will and testament of me Joseph Power at present of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland, planter, made the twenty second day of September Anno Domini nineteen hundred and two. I hereby revoke and annul all previous wills made by me. I appoint E. P. Morris executor of this my will. I give, devise and bequeath to my said executor for the sole use and benefit of my wife during her life all the property of every description of which I shall die possessed and consisting principally of the house I now live in and the furniture therein, the house next door to known as the "Shed" the house next door to the shed, being a double house with four tenements and the house opposite the gas-house to have and to hold the said property to my said executor to devote the proceeds or rents from same toward the maintenance and support of my said wife during her life. On the death of my said wife the proceeds of my said property shall be devoted by my executor in perpetuity for the celebration of masses for the repose of my soul and that of my wife Whatever moneys of which I shall die possessed and which shall come into the hands of my said executor I direct that he pay over the following sums to the following parties
I devise that my executor shall expend the $200.00 due me by M. Coady towards the restoration and repair of the house or shed adjoining the house I now live in. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name at St. John's aforesaid
the day and year first above written. Joseph Power This is a codicil to my will bearing date the 22 day of September A.D. 1902.
I revoke cancel and annul those two bequests in my said will namely the one
hundred dollars to James Brown and the one hundred dollars to John
Brown also
I revoke and annul the bequest to my wife of the house near the gas house or
opposite the same. I give devise and bequeath the sum of forty dollars to be
equally divided between Mary & Ann Cummins residing in Boston relations
of my wife I give devise and bequeath the house opposite the gas house to my
niece May Cummins to have and to hold the same for ever. In all other respects
I confirm my said will. I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and codicil of Joseph Power D.
