Last will and Testament of
Honora Power of st. Mary's S.D.
Widow deceased
This is the last will and Testament of
me Honora Power of St. Mary's widow after the
payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses, I give and bequeath
all the property of which I may die possessed of as follows
1st To my
sister Mary B. Harney the sum of one thousand six hundred
dollars
2nd To the Very Reverend Dean Ryan or his successor as resident
Clergyman at St. Patrick's Church St. John's the sum of Four
hundred dollars, towards the completion of Tower of said Church.
3rd to the Reverend Superioress for the use of the orphanage
at Belvidere the sum of Ten dollars.
4th To the Rev. Stephen O'Driscoll Parish Priest of St. Mary's
the sum of eighty dollars.
5th To the Convent of St. Mary's the sum of eighty dollars.
6th. To the Rev. Stephen O'Driscoll or the Parish Priest of St.
Mary's
the sum of Twenty dollars for a High Mass for the repose of my soul.
7th. To my Executor hereinafter named for a monument and railing
to be erected in the RC Cemetery at St. Mary's in memory of my late brother
James Harney Jr. the sum of one hundred dollars.
8th.
To the Rev. Lawrence Veriker Parish Priest of Ferryland
the sum of Twenty dollars.
9th to the Very Rev. Dean Ryan St. John's
the sum of Twenty dollars.
10th. To the Rev. Wm Jackman St. John's
the sum of Twenty dollars
11th To his Lordship Bishop of St. John's the sum of
forty dollars for a High Mass for the repose of my soul on the day of
my burial.
12th To my Executor the sum of one thousand four hundred dollars
the said amount to be invested by him, and the annual interest derived
therefrom to be paid to the Roman Catholic Bishop of St. John's
for an annual High Mass to be celebrated for the repose of my soul and
the souls of my deceased husband, Edmund Power, my father,
mother brothers and sister.
13th I give another additional four hundred dollars to my sister Mary
B. Harney making in all the sum of Two thousand dollars.
14th All the rest and residue of my property of every description I give and
bequeath to the Rev Stephen O'Driscoll Parish Priest of St. Mary's.
I hereby nominate and appoint Mr. Richard Clancey at present employed
by Mr. J. D. Ryan of St. John's my sole Executor
of this my last will and Testament.

of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses (the same
having been first read over and explained to said Testatrix witnesses

Since the posting of this will, we received this information from Mike Power:
It is the will on Honora Power volume 6 pages 587 - 588 probate year 1900. The
error relates to her sister named in the will. It is listed as Mary Harvey
when it should read Mary Harney. For confirmation you could look at the will
of Honora's husband Edmund in volume 4 page 119 probate year 1881.
After checking both wills, we have changed the name to Harney.
