Will of Mary Ann Perry
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 237 to 239 probate year 1907

In re
      Mary Ann Perry          deceased.

      I Mary Ann Perry of Port De-Grave Conception Bay Newfoundland, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this as and for my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore at any time by me made I hereby appoint my nephew Robert Dawe and my friend Harold Andrews to be the executors of my will.    I hereby direct my said executors to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses as soon as possible after my decease.    I hereby bequeath to my two brothers Thomas Dawe and Samuel Dawe and my two sisters Annie Andrews and Sarah Bartlett my house in Halifax which is sold to Cook of Halifax according to agreement In case Cook breaks agreement my house is to be sold and proceeds to be equally divided between my brothers and sisters as aforesaid     If Cook holds to agreement my sister Annie is to receive $44.00 Forty Four Dollars a year during her life until her share of the value of house is all taken out.
      Three Hundred Dollars $300.00 of money owed me by my nephew Wilfred Dawe is to be paid by him during the next three years and divided between my brothers and sisters equally, the balance owned me by my nephew Wilfred Dawe I give and bequeath to him for ever.
I also give and bequeath to my brothers and sisters Land owned by me at Black Duck Pond, Bareneed, same land to be sold and proceeds to be equally divided between my brothers & sisters as aforesaid.
      I give and bequeath to my nephew John Dawe all monies owed me by him as a compensation for his kindness and trouble to me. I also give and bequeath my nephew John Dawe my organ & organ stool, my music and other books and all furniture belonging to me now in front Room of house owned by my nephew John Dawe. I also give and bequeath my nephew John Dawe my Bread Knife and my Carving Knife and Fork.
I give and bequeath to my niece Alice Bartlett my Bed and Bedding and all my Bed - Room Furniture
I give and bequeath to my niece Bertha Bowden a half Dozen Silver Teaspoons.
I give and bequeath to Winnie Bowden daughter of my niece Bertha Bowden my Gold watch and chain.
I give and bequeath Mary Dawe wife of my nephew Robert Dawe my opal Ring.
I give and bequeath to my niece Ethel Bussey my Diamond Ring I give and bequeath to my sister-in-law Mary Dawe wife of my brother Thomas Dawe my set of Chinaware.
I give and bequeath to my brother Samuel Dawe the enlarged Photos of myself and also that of my late husband Geo Perry.
I give and bequeath to my nephew Robert H. Andrews, ½ Doz Dessert Spoons.
I give and bequeath to my nephew Gilbert Andrews all my Knives and Forks.
I give and bequeath to Irene Roberts daughter of my niece Jennie Roberts my Wedding Ring.
I give and bequeath Louise Dawe wife of my nephew George Dawe my lace Bed-Spread, and my best set of Pillow covers.
I give and bequeath to my niece Mary A Bishop my Butter Knife and half Dozen Table Spoons.
I give and bequeath to my sister-in-law Ann Maria Dawe wife of my late brother Henry Dawe my Fur Boa.
I give and bequeath my silver sugar spoon to my friend Flora Andrews.
I give and bequeath my Large trunk to St. Lukes Church Wms association.
All the rest of my belongings in the world not mentioned in my will I give and bequeath to my brothers and sisters to be equally divided amongst them, and in case either or all of them should die before everything is settled up whatever each ones share is must be divided equally amongst their children.    In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this 31st Day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine Hundred and seven 1907.    Mary Ann her X mark Perry. Signed Sealed published and declared as and for her last will and testament by said Mary Ann Perry in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses
