This name is spelled Penney in the will index and Penny and Penney in the will.

Last will and Testament of
Thomas Penney of Harbor Main
Planter deceased

      This is the last will and Testament of me Thomas Penney of Harbor Main in the District of Harbor Main in the Island of Newfoundland I hereby give devise and bequeath to my son Matthew Penney what land he now is in possession of the remaining portion of the land and the house I give devise and bequeath to my son-in-law James Quinlan, my son-in-law James Quinlan is to look after my wife Elizabeth Penny during her natural life.- Further Should my son Matthew Penny wish to build a cellar on the land I bequeath to my son-in-law James Quinlan he may do so on any portion whatever.
And lastly I do nominate and appoint my much respected friends Michael Murray & Charles Morrissey as the Executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15th day of June 1896 in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety six. (Sgd) Thomas his X mark Penny The above instrument consisting of one half sheet was now hereto subscribed by Thomas Penny the testator in presence of each of us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and testament and we at his request sign our names hereto as attesting witnesses.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Thomas Penny deceased.
