Will of Amelia Jane Penney
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 414-415 probate year 1916

In re
      AMELIA JANE PENNEY       deceased.

      I Amelia Jane Penney of Carbonear, widow, make and publish this my last will and testament
      First:     I leave to my brother Robert Ash whatever balance I may have to my credit in the Bank of Nova Scotia and whatever cash may be on hand in the house after my just debts are paid and after all expenses of burial are deducted therefrom.
      Second: I leave to my nephew Edgar Burke the sum of Five hundred dollars being half the amount I have on loan to the Methodist College Building.
      Third. I leave to my nieces Margaret Taylor and Louise Penney the sum of fifty dollars to each of them.
      Fourth. I leave to my nephew Captn Mark Burke the sum of Four hundred dollars and I desire him to divide this sum amongst my relatives.    He will know who need it worse but I want him to give something of this sum particularly to my nephew Thomas Burke and also to George Burke of Edgar.    And I leave to John Burke of Thos my Bureau, to my brother Robert my couch & sideboard, to my niece Mrs. Jane Butt my looking glass, to my niece Mrs. Margaret Taylor my clock, and the rest of my household effects to my niece Mrs. Edgar Burke.    Amelia Jane her X mark Penney     Signed by the said Amelia Jane Penney as and for her last will and testament in presence of us both, who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have signed our names as witnesses this 8th day of June 1916.    F.R.
