Will of Charles Pelley
from Newfoundland will books volume 12 pages 577-578 probate year 1924

In re
      CHARLES PELLEY.          DECEASED.

I, Charles Pelley of Georges Brook in Snooks Sound Trinity Bay being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make and declare this to be my last will and testament that is to say.

FIRST -     I bequeath to my wife Mary Ann Pelley the Dwelling house and land connected therewith which we now occupy as a homestead and all furniture household goods chattels and effects to be hers during her lifetime. I also bequeath to my said wife all money found in my name in Banks Bonds or elsewhere to be hers absolutely.

SECOND -     I give to my adopted son Watson Palmer Twenty five shares in which I own in the Electric Lite and power Co at Port union also my share of the Quary at Tilton Head also I give to the said Watson Palmer that piece of land on the South Side of Georges Brook bounded as follows on the West by the Dock Road on the South by the Public Road on the East by Georges Brook to be his and his heirs for ever but not to sell give or otherwise to dispose of Also I give to said Watson Palmer after my wife’s death all my homestead on the North Side of Georges Brook to be his and his heirs for ever.

THIRD -     I give to my nephew Malcolm Pelley all my claim to the Brickyard with all land connected therewith with all chattels of same and all business and property interests known under the name of C. & M. Pelley     I also give to the said Malcolm Pelley all my right title and interest to that piece of land bounded as follows, on the North by Public Road on the West by the Dock Road on the South Rail Road and on the East by the Mill Road and divided by the Station Road also that piece of land bounded on the North by the Rail Road on the West by the Dock Road on the South and East by the Salt Water to be his and his heirs for ever on further conditions that no house built thereon is to continue gambling or sell intoxicating drink or tobacco in any form.

FOURTH -     I hereby appoint my nephew Malcolm Pelley to be my executor and my wife Mary Ann executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

      In witness whereof I the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal on this the Sixth day of September 1923

If Watson should die without an heir all will revert to Malcolm Pelley my nephew.
