Alexander Pelley deceased.
Hants Harbor Newfoundland In the
name of God Amen. I Alexander Pelley of Hants Harbor Newfoundland
being weak of body but of sound mind and memory and knowing it is appointed
unto men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in
the following manner and form, that is to say Firstly I
give my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it knowing that at the
General resurrection I shall receive the same again according to the mighty
power of God and my body to be buried in decent burial. And as touching my
worldly Goods which it hath pleased God to give me. I give and dispose of in
the following manner and form
I give and bequeath to my nephew John Pelley all my land and property situate at Caplin Cove namely the Farm adjoining the
land of the Late James Mitchell also the Grass Meadow whereon
stands my old dwelling House together with the said old dwelling House Also
the Cabbage Garden near the said Grass Meadow, also the waterside property
situate at Caplin Cove and bounded on the South by the Late John Ellis
(of Thomas) land and on the north by the land of Jacob Ellis
Senior to be my nephews
for his sole use or to dispose of as he deems fit also I give and bequeath
to my nephew John Pelley my part of the fishing room and property
situate at Hants harbour
I also give and bequeath to my nephew John Pelley all the money that I possess at my death, that is to say all that I may
have in my possession at my death and the money that I may have in the
Savings Bank of the Newfoundland Government which amount is now Eight hundred
and ninety dollars together with accrued interest thereon after the said
nephew John Pelley paying any debts that I may owe at my death. I appoint
Peter Tuck and Archibald Targett to be my executors. I hereby revoke annul
and disallow all other wills or testaments made by me declaring this to
be my last will and testament Signed witnessed and declared by me in the
presence of the witnesses and in the presence of each other this Twenty
ninth day of July A.D. one thousand nine hundred and seven Alexander
his x mark Pelley Witnesses Archibald Targett Peter Tuck.
