Prerogative Court of Canterbury




In the Name of God Amen. I JEREMIAH QUIN of TRINITY in the Island of Newfoundland ffisherman being of a sound memory mind and understanding but in great age and infirmity of body and being mindful of my latter and do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament that is to say first I give and bequeath to JOHN FFOSTER the son of my WIFE by her FORMER HUSBAND the sum of thirty one pounds sixteen shillings and four pence British sterling money to be paid out of money standing in my name in the Books of the Governor(?) and Company of the Bank of England Also I give and bequeath to my DAUGHTER ELENOR SULIVAN of RYDERS HARBOR in Newfoundland the sum of twenty pounds British sterling to be paid in the manner out of money standing in my name on the Books of the Governor(?) and Company of the Bank of England. Also I give and bequeath the residue of money now standing in my name upon the Books of Governor(?) and Company of the Bank together with all monies of which I may be possessed and all goods chattels and effects to me belonging or may be due to me at the time of my death to be equally divided between JOHN FFOSTER and THOMAS FFOSTER the two sons of my DECEASED WIFE by her FORMER HUSBAND. Lastly I appoint the REV. WILLIAM BULLOCK Clerk the Protestant Episcopal Missionary of Trinity to be the sole Executor of this my last will and testament and I desire that before any of the legacies be paid all my just debts and ffuneral expences be fully discharged. In witness whereof I the said JEREMIAH QUIN have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal at Trinity this tenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one.


Signed sealed published and delivered by the above mentioned JEREMIAH QIN for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other hereto set our names as witness.




Proved at London 29th September 1835 before the Judge by the oath of the REVEREND WILLIAM BULLOCK Clerk the sole Executor to whose admon was granted being first sworn by? duly to administer.
