Will of James Patten Last Will and Testament of In the name of God Amen I James Petten of Middle Bight South Shore Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland of no occupation being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. I give and bequeath to my sister Emma Bishop wife of John Bishop of Middle Bight all the cultivated and uncultivated land that I possess willed and bequeathed to me by my father the late John Petten viz: Three pieces of land in Middle Bight north of Main Road and one piece in the country south of the main road also in Middle Bight To have and to hold the said pieces of land for her own sole use and benefit for ever. And I do hereby utterly disallow and disannul all and every other former Testament wills and bequests by me in anywise before named willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 11th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety four (sgd) James his x mark Petten (LS) Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the said James Petten as his last will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses. (Sgd) Francis F. Furneaux Commissioner of Supreme Court of Newfoundland. (Sgd) Alfred Butler I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of James Petten deceased Registrar (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
