ISABELLA PATON
THIS is the last will and testament of Me Isabella Paton of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland Widow.
- I give to Lizzie Bellions of DunforMline, Scotland, Spinster the sum of two hundred dollars ; to Katie Bellions of the same place spinister the sum of two hundred dollars; to my brother Nathaniel Hussey of St Philips the sum of two hundred dollars; to my nephew Chesley Earl of Halifax Nova Scotia the sum of one hundred dollars; to my nephew William Earle of Halifax Nova Scotia the sum of one hundred dollars; to my godchild Peter Weston Carter Miller of Canso, Nova Scotia, the sum of one hundred dollars; to Mary Miller wife of Arthur W. Miller of Saint John's aforesaid the sum of one hundred dollars.
- I give devise and bequeath to my niece Mrs Elizabeth Neilson of Greenock Scotland, the freehold land and building Number 50 Casey Street at present occupied by two tenants and used as a dwelling house and laundry; forever.
- I give devise and bequeath to my sister Tryphena Earl of Dartmouth Nova Scotia, the freehold land situate on Casey Street with the three tenements thereon Numbers 44, 46 and 48; at present occupied by three tenants; forever; also my clothing. (Initialed by C.W., W.O.D., W.O.D.k)
- I give and bequeath to my niece Lillie Newell wife of James Newell my leasehold land situate on Brazel's Square with the tenements thereon Numbers 42, 44, 46 and 48; for all my interest and estate therein; but subject to all rents, outgoings and liabilities in respect thereof.
- I give and bequeath my organ to Weston Earle of Saint John's Tailor.
- I give and bequeath to Edit Earle daughter of the said Weston Earle my shares in the Newfoundland Boot and Shoe Manufacturing Company Limited.
- I give devise and bequeath to Susannah Purse of Saint John's aforesaid spinister the dwelling house situate on Pleasant Street and at present occupied by me; together with my household furniture and effects of every description (except my organ) forever and absolutely.
- All the rest residue and remainder of my property moneys estate and effects of every description I give devise and bequeath to the said Susannah Purse forever and absolutely. (Initialled by E.C.W, W.O.D.E., W.O.D.K, M.C.W.)
