Will of William Parsons
from Newfoundland will books volume 9 pages 463-464 probate year 1912

In re
      William Parsons          deceased.

      I William Parsons of Ochre Pit Cove in Conception Bay Planter make this my last will and Testament
First I give and bequeath to my son Nicholas the land I purchased from Elizabeth Gill and now in Nicholas possession.
Second I give and bequeath to my son William George my horse and cart and all my carpenters tools.
Third. I give and bequeath to my Executors hereinafter named all the residue of my property both real and personal in trust for the use of my wife during her life and after her decease then upon trust to hold that piece of land called the Plantation also the land purchased from John Fogarty also my fishing room and stage to be equally shared and shared alike between my sons Nicholas and William George but it is my desire if my son Richard should come back and wish to reside permanently in Ochre Pit Cove he shall one of the meadows bequeath to Wm George so that he may have a place to build a house and have a garden and to hold all the residue of my property both real and personal except that hereinafter mentioned upon trust for my said son Wm George forever.
Fourth I give and bequeath to my son Nicholas what is known as the “big meadow” of Fogartys property and the rest to belong to Wm George and his heirs forever
Fifth It is my will that my said wife do dispose of her beds and trunks as she thinks best. My son Richard having received as much from me for his education, or I having paid so much for him. I consider that the benefits are as much as the other sons have received from me.
I appoint Albert Penney and George White both of Ochre Pit Cove Executors of this my last will and Testament. Jabez Hill I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the fifteenth day of September A.D. Eighteen hundred and ninety-seven William His x mark Parsons     Signed in our presence by the said Wm Parsons who in his person and in the presence of each other have signed their names as witnesses, the same having been read over to the said William Parsons in our presence and fully explained to him Jabez Hill     M. M. Joseph Pascoe Parsons
