In re
Mary Watts Parsons deceased.
The last will and testament of
Mary Watts Parsons of Harbor Grace Newfland being of
sound and disposing memory and mind. I constitute and appoint my brother
Horatio John Watts of St. John’s Nfland to be executor of this my
last will. He to pay all my just debts, and funeral expenses, and the legacies
hereinafter given, out of my Estate - after the payment of my said debts
and funeral expenses, I give to the seven surviving children of my brother
in law Benjamin Parsons and my sisters in law Martha
Antle and Eliza Butler,
being the nephews and nieces of my late husband James Henry Parsons - having
regard only to the said nephews and nieces now living in Newfoundland Shares
in the Harbor Grace Water Company stock namely certificate No 7 for one
hundred and fifty-three and one third shares 153 1/3 of twenty Dollars
each equal to Three Thousand and sixty-six Dollars sixty seven cents, also
Certificate No. 8 for Fifty three shares in the Harbor Grace Water Company
of seventy dollars each equal to one thousand and sixty dollars both certificates
being of the value of Four thousand one hundred and Twenty six Dollars
and sixty seven cents $4126.67 to be equally divided between between the
said seven nephews and nieces.
I give and bequeath to my brother
in law Benjamin Parsons the sum of one thousand Dollars and one thousand
Dollars in Debentures.
I give to my niece Mary Zela Clinton Watts the sum of Four hundred Dollars -
I give to my niece Lizzie Strathie
Watts the sum of Four hundred Dollars
I give to my niece Jeannie
Claudia Watts the sum of Four hundred Dollars
I give to my nephew
Theodore John Watts the sum of Four hundred Dollars
I give to
my sister in law Tryphena Watts the sum of Five hundred Dollars
I
give to my brother Horatio John Watts the sum of Five hundred Dollars -
I
give to my niece Mary Lillias Norris (nee Tait) of Invercargill New Zealand
the sum of Four hundred Dollars
I give to my niece Zeta Druscilla
Andrews (nee Tait) of Oakland San Francisco California the sum of Four
hundred Dollars.
I give to my sister-in-law Jane Watts the widow
of my late brother Theodore Thomas Watts the sum of Four hundred Dollars-

give to my nephew Claude Nigel Watts the sum of Four hundred Dollars -
I
give my niece Zeta Mercedes Watts the sum of four hundred Dollars.
I
give to my niece Belle Davis Watts the sum of Four hundred dollars -
I
give to the fund for the intended Hospital at Harbor Grace the sum of Two
hundred dollars
I give to the Trustees of the Wesley Methodist
Church Harbor Grace the sum of Two hundred Dollars.
I give to
my cousin Julia Rowe Luther of Charlottetown Prince Edward Island the sum
of one hundred Dollars -
I give to the poor of the Methodist
Church of Harbor Grace the sum of Two hundred Dollars.
I give
to nephews and nieces of late husband James Henry Parsons in the United
States the sum of Five hundred Dollars to be equally divided between them.
I
devise to my said executor my dwelling house and stable and all the land
belonging to it, and the house in two tenements and land, all on Carbonear
Road Harbor Grace- To be sold and the net Proceeds to be equally or pro
rata divided between the persons only as hereinbefore named
And
lastly as to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate,
goods and chattles of what kind and nature soever I give and bequeath the
same to my brother Horatio John Watts - my sole executor
- In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the thirteenth
day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen. Mary

consisting of one sheet was now here subscribed by Mary Watts Parsons in
the presence of each of us - And was at the same time declared by her to
be her last will and testament, and we at her request sign our names hereto,
