Last Will and Testament of
William Pardy of Grand Bank
Fisherman deceased.

      A Will. In the name of God amen
The eleventh day of May one thousand eight hundred and eighty five
I William Pardy of Grand Bank Fortune Bay in the Southern district of the Island of Newfoundland being very old and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God Therefore calling unto mind the mortality of the body knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
First I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Buffett Pardy my dwelling house together with all the household furniture beds, bedding etc outhouses and the land whereon they stand, I also give to my son Benjamin Buffett Pardy a garden close to my dwelling house a piece of land up by the side of Grand Bank Brook adjoining land owned by William Buffett a piece of land up Grand Bank Brook close to John Dun's land half of a piece of land in the marsh near Long Pond the southern side of this last mentioned piece to be Benjamin B. Pardys, a piece on Point Brewley adjoining Mrs. Ann Forsey's land and a piece of land on the western side of Admirals Cove, half my piece of land in the marsh I give to my son Charles Pardy his part looking to the north I make and ordain my sons Benjamin Buffett Pardy and Charles Pardy my sole executors to this my last will and Testament. In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Grand Bank this eleventh day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty five.
