Last will and testament
of Eli Paddick
of Roberts Arm N. D. Bay Planter Deceased

I Eli Paddick of Robert's Arm, formerly of Ward's Harbour Notre Dame Bay, Newfoundland being in perfect possession of my mental faculties do make this my last will and testament. 1. To my son Oliver Paddick I give and bequeath ½ acre of my land on the Western end, Waterside, adjoining the ½ acre I have previous given to James Paddick 2. To my son Samuel Paddick I give and bequeath all my land (with the exceptions before mentioned) dwelling house, outhouses, stores and stages, boats, tools, fishing gear, sheep, and all other things appertaining to me above, or the undermentioned bequesth 1st. That he supports my wife and family, whilst they continue to do their part towards the maintenance of the family. By my family here mentioned I mean Violet Jane Paddick, Esther Ann Paddick, Elizabeth Mary Paddick, Louisa Rebecca Paddick, Emma Paddick, Henry Thomas Paddick 2nd. That when my son Henry Thomas comes to the age of 21 years he shall give him an equal share of the property if he has done his part towards the maintenance of the family aforesaid 3. I give and bequeath one of my two guns to my son Samuel Paddick, and the other to my son Henry Thomas. 4. Should my son Samuel die before my son Henry Thomas reach the age of 21 years all the aforesaid things shall be in the entire management of my wife until Henry Thomas Paddick reach the age of 21 years, when all shall be under his control. 5. I leave my estate free from any encumbrance or debt I appoint George Paddick and Samuel Short to be my sole executors. Signed this 3rd day of March 1890 by me Eli his x mark Paddick In presence of Henry C. Hatcher (???) George Paddick Saml Coffin.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of Eli Paddick.
