PHILIP MAHONEY TO MICHAEL NOWLAN

Memorial of an indenture made at Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland the eighteenth day of May Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three whereby Philip Mahoney of Cat's Cove in the Northern District of the Island aforesaid planter being indebted to Michael Nowlan of Saint John's aforesaid merchant in the sum of eight hundred and thirty-six pounds did in consideration of the said sum of eight hundred and thirty-six pounds and the further consideration of the sum affine willing paid the said Philip Mahoney by the law Michael Nowlan the receipt of which is acknowledged grant bargain sell and aligns units the said Michael Nowlan his executor administrator and aligns all that piece or parcel of land situate in Cat's Cove aforesaid and the fortescue occupied by the said Philip MAHONEY bounded on the South by the Harbour of Cat's Cove and extending along the same about six hundred yards; on the North by the road leading towards Kituses and extending along the same about one hundred yards; on the East by land of John Buck and on the West by land of John Buck together with all houses, buildings and erections thereon and all ways paths passages privileges and appendances thereto belonging or in anyway ???. Also all that other piece or parcel of land situate immediately North of the road aforesaid (which said road divides the said two pieces of land ??? bargained sold and aligned unto the said Michael Nowlan) together with all houses and erections thereon and all ways paths and passages thereto belonging to ??? and to hold the said two pieces of land aforesaid and all houses outhouses and erections thereon units the said Michael Nowlan his executor administrators and aligns ???, consonant for food Tithe and for further conveyances of required

John Nowlan of Saint John's accountant maketh oath and saith that he was present and did see Philip MAHONEY the grantor within named duly sign by affixing his mark seal and deliver the within conveyance as and ??? his act and deed John Nowlan, from before me at Saint John's this 8th day of July AD 1863, MW. Walbank Commissioner affts. Supreme Const. I hereby certify that the execution of the indenture of which the foregoing is a memorial aft. By Philip MAHONEY grantor party thereto appears by the affix of John Nowlan endorsed thereon to have been proved before M. W. Walbank Commissioner of affidavits supreme Const. On the 8th day of July AD 1863 the said deed was deposited unto me on the ninth day of July AD 1863 at 5 o'clock p.m. and a correct memorial of the same and a true copy of the affidavit of proof thereof are hereby duly registered by me this day.

Given under my hand this tenth day of July AD. One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.
