Petition of Mary Hanaford of Petty Harbor Probate year 1899.

To the Honorable the Supreme court or ones of the Honorable the Judges thereof

The petition of Mary Haniford of Petty Harbor in the island of Newfoundland widow Humbly sheweth as follows.
That Samuel Haniford late of Petty Harbor aforesaid merchant deceased died at the above place on the 14th of November AD 1891 intestate.
That said deceased left him such (?) living his widow your petitioner and seven children namely James Stephen Mary Ellen Margaret Lucy and Lawrence.
That at the time of his death deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court of the probable value of eighteen hundred dollars.
That no probate to any will or letter of administration has been granted to any person.
Petitioner therefore prays that letters of administration may be granted to her and as is duly bound she will ever pray.
Dated at St. Johns this 14th day of December AD 1898.
