Joshua Foquet sale to William Brown

 

Know all persons whom it may be known that I Joshua Foquet of Bonavista in the Island of Newfoundland for and in consideration of the sum of fourteen pounds of bills of exchange to be paid me the said Joshua Foquet of lawfull money of Great Britain & thirty pounds twelve shillings to be paid Ms Jeffery & Street of produce of the said Island as being debt due from said Joshua Foquet to the afore said Jefferys & Street by William Brown of Bonavista in the Island of Newfoundland the receipt where of I hereby acknowledge have bargained sold and delivered by these presents according to the due form of law do bargain sell deliver unto the said William Brown all my plantation situate & lying between at Canail called Saunders & a room occupied by Robert Dugdall to have and to hold the said bargained premises onto the said William Brown his executors administrators & assigns for ever from the date here of and I the said Joshua Foquet will warrent for my self my heirs execotors, administrators and assigns and will warrent and defend the said William Brown his administrators & assigns for against all whom so ever persons shall and will forever defend by these presents.
In witness to whereof we have to these presents both parties have interchangeably set their hand & sig & their seals ? day of November and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four & in the twenty fifth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the third King of Great Britain, France and Ireland Defender of the Faith.
