In the Supreme Court
To the Honorable Sir Francis Brady Knight Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and others the Assistant Judges thereof

The Petition of Frances McNamara, of St. John's in the Central District Widow,

Respectfully Sheweth

That your Petitioner's late father Thomas Bulger, late of St. John's aforesaid, Carpenter, died on or about the Fifteenth day of August. A.D. 1854 leaving him surviving two children above the age of 21 years being your Petitioner and her brother Martin Bulger, who has been absent from this Island for a number of years
That your Petitioner's said father made and executed his last Will, hereunto annexed, leaving your Petitioner sole Legatee and by a Codicil annexed to said Will half the property bequeathed to your Petitioner under the said Will was devised to the said Martin Bulger in the event of his return to this Island.

That your Petitioner's father was possessed of property at the time of his death of the probable value of Five hundred Pounds
Your Petitioner therefore prays that your Lordships may be pleased to grant her Letters of Administration with the Will annexed to the said Estate.
And as in duty bound she will ever pray &c.
