John Brown to John Brown
1891

 

Know all men that this agreement witinesth that I John Brown resident of the town of Bonavista and fisherman of said town in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety one do bequeath and give over all my property to my nephew John Brown and that now and forever I release and give over to him all claim thereto of said property consisting of one half of fishing room situated between Rolls point and Tillys Brook and bounded on the South by the fishing room belonging to the Sweetland brothers and on the North by the fishing room owned by Edward Powell and brother also the adjacent property consisting of gardens and meadows also a potato garden bounded on the north by old Days pond road and on the South and East by Humblys garden also a smaller garden bounded on the North by the Old Days Pond road and on the South by by Mifflins meadow also my part of dwelling house and store and stable. In short whatever property I lay claim to I give over to him and that he can build thereon or renovate or make any improvement he wishes to without any hinderence on my part and in consideration of said property made over to him he is to support me as long as I have need of him.

This agreememt witnessed that I John Brown of Bonavista fisherman do give all my claim now and after my death to John Brown my nephew on condition that he is duty bound to support me while I have need of them


Additional notes

The elder John Brown was a son of George & Sussanna Brown nee Spurdle and he never married and he hung himself on Dec 23 1891
His nephew was John Easton Brown the son of George & Susan Brown nee Easton
These people are all related to William Brown Esq. And his wife Mary of Bonavista
