     To the Honourable the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honourable the Judges thereof.
     The petition of Victoria M. Bishop of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland, Widow.

HUMBLY SHEWETH

  1.  That Joseph J. Bishop late of St. John's aforesaid retired Carpenter deceased died there on or about the 26th. day of July A.D. 1964 having previously made and executed his last Will and Testament which is hereto annexed marked "A" and of which he appointed your petitioner executrix.
  2. The said deceased left him surviving his widow (your petitioner) but no issue. The said deceased was also survived by one brother Edward I. Bishop of Carbonear in the Island aforesaid retired Photographer and several nieces and nephews (children of deceased brothers and sisters).
  3. The said deceased at the time of his death was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of your Honourable Court of the probable valued of $21,915.58      $22,116.58     V.M.B
  4. The inventory and valuation hereto annexed marked "B" is to the best of petitioner's knowledge information and belief a just and true inventory and valuation of the property estate and effects of the said deceased as far as petitioner can at present ascertain
  5. No probate of any will nor letters of administration to the estate of the said deceased have been granted to any person.

      Petitioner therefore prays that Letters of Probate of the Will of the said deceased may be granted to her.

      And as in duty bound petitioner will ever pray etc.

A.D., One thousand nine hundred and fifty three , I was present and did see Joseph J. Bishop................................................ late of St . John's ................. in the Electoral District of St. John' s ....................... in the Province aforesaid Carpenter the Testator ....named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, marked A, duly sign; publish and declare the said annexed paper writing, as and for his ........ last Will and Testament in my presence, and in the presence of William O'Toole ...................... the other subscribing witness thereto. THIS is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph J. Bishop of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland Carpenter.

  1. I appoint my wife Victoria M. Bishop executrix of this my Will.
  2. I give devise and bequeath all my lands, goods, moneys, securities, property, chattels, estate and effects of every description to my said wife for her own use and benefit and forever and absolutely but upon the condition that if my said wife should, within five years after the date of my death, decide to sell my land and dwelling house known as No. 62 Quidi Vidi Road, Saint John's aforesaid, she shall first offer it for sale to my sister Minnie (the wife of John Wheeler of 64 Quid! Vidi Road aforesaid), if my said sister shall then be living, at the lowest price which my said wife will be prepared to accept for the sale of the said land and dwelling house.

      WITNESS my hand at Saint John's aforesaid this 11th day of May Anno Domini One thousand nine hundred and fifty- three.
