Last will and testament
of
Apsalom Oldford
I, Apsalom Oldford of Elliston North in the electoral district of Trinity Bay Nfld, being of sound mind do hereby make this my last will and testament. I do hereby give and bequeath to my two sons Thomas and Amaziah, the fishing room, the same to be equally divided between them.
I do also give and bequeath to the same two sons the store that is on the fishing room.
I do also will that the above mentioned property cannot be sold by either of my said sons except it be to his brothers.
I also give and bequeath to my son Amaziah my portion of the dwelling house and all its furniture, also my stable, cellar and store and such land as is bounded on the north by John Burt and on the south by my son Thomas and on the west by Obadiah Martin and on the East by the main road.
I do also will that in the event of my son Amaziah dying before his wife Sarah the property must go to his children, the said woman Sarah however may live on the property, so long as she remains a widow. In the event of her marrying again she must leave the place.
I do also give and bequeath to my son Amaziah the meadow known as Bearns also the meadow known as George Martins.
I also give and bequeath to my said son Amaziah my potatoe garden.
I also give him (Amaziah) half of the meadow which goes by the name of Tuckers and the other half to my son Thomas.
I also will that none of the land is to be sold outside of the family.
I likewise give to my said son Amaziah my horse, harness last and all pertaining thereto.
I do also will that after my death any money I may leave must be spent as follows.
First. All funeral expenses to be paid. Second. Headstone to be bought. and in the event of any being left it is to be paid out as follows. To my grandson Nisshi Cole $20.00 and to my granddaughter Susie Cole $20.00 and if any yet remains it is to be given out as follows. To my daughter-in-law Sarah, $30.00 and the remaining balance to be equally divided between my sons Amaziah and Thomas.
Witness my hand this twenty sixth day of June nineteen hundred and twenty three.

I Absalom Oldford, of Elliston North in the electoral district of Trinity Bay being of sound mind and understanding, do hereby make this codicil to my last will and testament.
- I hereby confirm my last will dated the 26th day of June, 1923, witnessed by Rev Stanley Williams and Mr Job E. Coles with the additions hereinafter made.
- I appoint my son, Amaziah Oldford sole executor of my said last will and this codicil thereto.
- I direct that Death Duties if any, and all the costs of probating my said last will and this codicil thereto be a first charge on any money I may leave, whether the same be in hand or in bank.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand at Elliston N. this 30th day of April Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and twenty eight

who, in his presence, at his request, and in the presence
of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses
the said codicil having been first read over and explained
to the said testator, who appeared fully to understand and a
approve of same.
