James O’Donnell of Rockwell College, Cashel
County Tipperary in Ireland
Gentleman deceased
In the name of God Amen I James
O’Donnell at present of Rockwell College Cashel Co. Tipperary Ireland,
being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish
and declare this my last will and Testament in manner following that
is to be.
- To my Executors hereafter named will and
bequeath the sum of Five hundred pounds sterling or Twenty four
hundred dollars to my nephew Richard O’Connell Ballingeny or Ballyalans
Cahie Co Tipperary Ireland and one hundred pound sterling to his daughter
Mary Josephine O’Donnell (my Godchild) for her Education
- To
my niece Mary Francis O’Donnell Presentation Convent Carrick on
Lim Twenty five pounds sterling
- To my niece Mrs
John McKenna (Bridget Dempsey) residing in 4251 A. N. Market
St. Louis Mo. U.S.A. one thousand dollars for the education of her
children
- To
Mrs. William Teirney (Mary O’Connor) Chamberlains town Cahie Co.
Tipperary Two hundred pounds sterling And to her son Francis (my Godchild)
one hundred pounds sterling for his Education.

Ellen O’Connor Presentation Convent Maynorth Sister
Ignatius one
hundred pounds sterling.
- To Margaret O’Connor Two hundred pounds sterling.
- To Francis O’Connor Clouliffe College one hundred and fifty pounds sterling.

Mother (for the time being) Mercy Convent Belvidere for the
orphans one hundred pounds cy.
- To Rev Mother Mercy Convent Millitary
Road fifty pounds Cy.
- To the Benevolent Irish Society
St. John’s N.F.L.D. one hundred pounds Cy (at interest) to pay
my yearly dues the balance to go for prizes for the boys Saint Vincent
de Paul Society (men) one hundred pounds Cy. St. Vincent de Paul (Ladies)
fifty pounds cy.
- To Rockwell College Church Cashel
Co. Tipey. One hundred pounds stg.
- To the Superior
Rockwell College Cashel Co. Tippy. for masses for my soul and
the souls of the faithful departed one hundred pounds stg.
- To
the Superior Mount Millnay Abbey Co. Waterford fifty pounds
stg for masses for the repose of souls of the faithful departed.
- To
Mrs Michael O’Donnell (Bridget O’Connor) Reachestown Ardfinnan
Co. Tippery. Two hundred pounds sterling.
I
will and bequeath to the College of Rockwell Cashel Co Tippery my fee
simple landed property in Belvidere St. John’s N.F.L.D. (value
in rent for $102.07) agent James M. Kent Esq Q.C.
for the education or part thereof of one of my next akin and should
Rockwell College cease to be, the above yearly amount is to be transferred
to the College of Mount Millway Co. Waterford Balance of cash remaining
to be applied for the education of my next akin in Rockwell or other
Institution of Education.
I hereby nominate and appoint my friends
the Honorable Judge Little and James D.
Ryan Esq both of St. John’s N.F.L.D. executors to
this my last will and Testament revoking all former and other wills
by me made. In witness whereof I have herein subscribed my name this
