Will of Levi Noseworthy
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 297-298 probate year 1907

In re
      Levi Noseworthy          deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Levi Noseworthy of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, Master Mariner.

First. I hereby revoke all former wills and Testamentary dispositions by me at any time made.

Second. I give devise and bequeath all my property to my wife Sarah Noseworthy absolutely should she survive me.

Third. Should my said wife not survive me I give devise and bequeath all my property as follows:-

  • (a) To my son Samuel Noseworthy all my piece or parcel of land situate on the North side of Hamilton Street in St. John’s together with the dwelling house and all other buildings and erections thereon absolutely.
  • (b) To my said son Samuel Noseworthy all my household furniture and personal effects except such as are hereinafter specifically bequeathed to my daughter Annie Janes.
  • (c) To my said son Samuel Noseworthy the proceeds of my Masonic insurance.
  • (d) To my said daughter Annie Janes the bedstead, bed and bedding and all the furniture and effects generally found in her bed-room whilst she was living with me, also my organ and sewing-machine.
  • (e) To my said daughter Annie Janes all the rest residue and remainder of my estate.
  • (f) I will and direct that all my debts funeral and testamentary expenses be borne equally by my said son and daughter.

I appoint James P. Blackwood, of St. John’s Barrister-at-Law, Executor of this my will.    In witness whereof I the said Levi Noseworthy have hereunto subscribed my hand and seal at St. John’s aforesaid this first day of June Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and five     Levi Noseworthy signed by the said testator as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us both being present at the same time, who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.    Jessie E.
