I James Charles Norman of Cupids Conception Bay in the island of Newfoundland, being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say: First I give and bequeath to my nephew James Norman of Nathan Norman all my share (that is to say the half of all the property hereinafter named) of the land dwelling house, two stores, one feather bed, one chest of drawers and all the rest residue and remainder of my furniture (not hereinafter named) and also all my share of that piece or parcel of land as shown by diagram, situate about a mile west from the river head of Cupids, on the southside of the public road to become his on attaining the age of twenty one years. Second I give and devise to my brother Nathan Norman one feather bed, and all my share of two cows, two pigs, one horse and harness and also all my Labrador property to have and to hold the same for ever. Third I fiurther desire that the whole of the said property be held by the said Nathan Norman for his own use and benefit until the said James Norman shall attain the said age, and in case the said James Norman shall happen to die under twenty one then I give and bequeath his share to the said Nathan Norman to have and to hold the same for ever - Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint John Spracklin and John Norman (senior) to be executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this     day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine (sgd) James Charles his x mark Norman
Signed and sealed by the said James Charles Norman the testator in our presence and in the presence of each other at the same time subscribe our names as witnesses. (Sgd) John Norman. (Sgd) William Henry ???
