Last will and Testament of
Robert Nisbet of St. John’s
Master Mariner deceased

      I Robert Nisbet residing at number Fifty one Patrick Street Saint John’s Newfoundland Master of the Sailing Ship “Stella” trading between Greenock and Saint John’s aforesaid and owned by Messrs J A W. Stewart Merchants Watt Place Greenock being desirous to provide for the management and disposal of my whole means and estate after my death do hereby appoint James Jardine Examining officer of her Majestys Customs at Saint John’s aforesaid to be my sole Executor and administrator with full power to him to intromit with my whole means and estate of every description, to give up inventories thereof, to confirm the same, and generally to do everything in the premises competent to an executor; Declaring always that the said James Jardine shall be accountable to the residuary legatees hereinafter named for his intromission in virtue hereof after payment of all my lawful debts deathbed and funeral charges, the necessary expenses to be laid out in confirming recovering and administering my said estate and executory; and I ordain my said Executor to dispose convey assign and make over to and in favor of my wife Mrs Mary Grace Jardine or Nisbet residing at Number fifty one Patrick Street Saint John’s aforesaid in case she shall survive me the whole household furniture and plenishing of every description belonging to me that may be in and about my dwelling house at the time of my decease; and I further ordain my said Executor to dispose convey assign pay and make over to my wife the said Mrs Mary Grace Jardine or Nisbet and to my mother Mrs Margaret Murrie or Nisbet residing at number forty one Albert Road Greenock in the county of Renfrew in Scotland equally between them share and share alike the whole residue and remainder of my said means and Estate and further in the event of the said Mrs Margaret Murrie or Nisbet predeceasing me I direct my said Executor to dispose convey assign pay and make over to my sister Mary Mathie Nisbet residing at number forty one Albert Road Greenock aforesaid and failing the said Mary Mathie Nisbet also by death before me then to Robert Nisbet and Nellie Nisbet residing at number forty three Springhey Road Egdemont in the County of Cheshire in England both children of my brother Thomas Nisbet Master Mariner residing at number forty three Springhey Road Egdemont aforesaid equally between them share and share alike the share of my said means and estate which would have fallen to my mother the said Mrs. Margaret Murrie or Nisbet had she survived me and I consent to the registration hereof and of any codicil or codicils which I may afterwards annex or execute relative hereto for preservation: In witness whereof these presents written on this and the preceding page by William James Wright Solicitor Greenock one subscribed by me at Greenock on the thirtieth day of August Eighteen hundred and ninety two before these witnesses the said William James Wright and Norman Nicolson his clerk. (Sgd) Robert Nisbet.     Signed by the said Robert Nisbet in presence of us present at the same time who in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribe our names as witnesses hereto.
