Will of Edwin Murray
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 page 396 probate year 1926

In re
      EDWIN MURRAY.     DECEASED.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me EDWIN MURRAY of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland Merchant.

FIRST I appoint my wife and the Eastern Trust Company Executrix and Executor of this my Will.

SECOND I direct that all my debts (except my business debts) funeral and testamentary expenses and death duties be paid out of my Estate.

THIRD I request that my brother Arthur be retained in the employ of my business as long as he may wish to remain and in any case I direct that he shall be paid out of my business assets the sum of Twelve dollars per week or that amount secured to him by agreement with my said wife and my two sons hereinafter mentioned.

FOURTH I direct that my business debts be paid out of my business assets and subject thereto and to the next preceding paragraph I bequeath the good-will and assets of the business carried on by me at No. 13 New Gower Street in St. John’s to my wife and my two sons Edwin Neyle Murray and Arthur Gordon Murray in equal shares.

FIFTH I bequeath my messuage and premises situate on Bonaventure Avenue in St. John’s and known as “Maecroft” to my wife absolutely.

SIXTH I bequeath all the residue of my estate to my wife.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I, the said Edwin Murray have subscribed my hand at St. John’s aforesaid this twenty-ninth day of May Anno Domini One thousand nine hundred and twenty-six.

SIGNED by the said Testator in the presence of us both being present at the same time who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
