Will of Thomas Murphy
from Newfoundland will books volume 6 page 53 probate year 1893

Last Will and Testament of
Thomas Murphy of St. John's
Accountant deceased.

      This is the last will of me Thomas Murphy of St. John's Newfoundland accountant
First I will that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid out of my estate
Second I will and bequeath all my estate whatsoever consisting of Bank stock, furniture, chattels real and otherwise of which I am now possessed to my son Thomas J. Murphy Solicitor and also all property whatsoever of which I shall become possessed before my death to my aforesaid son subject as follows that should my said son predecease me then all the same and fruits thereof shall go to the principal of the Christian Brothers and his successors in said office for the education of the children under their care, but in case my said son should marry or live after me (and in case of marriage die without issue the said bequest mentioned above shall go to his widow for her life) and after his death and after her death (his wife's) to the principal of the Christian Brothers as aforesaid and but in case he should marry and have issue then all the above estate shall go to such of his children or to his wife as he may by his last will may bequeath the same.
Thirdly I appoint Revd. Jno. Ryan at present of St. Patricks Riverhead and my said son Thomas to be the executors of this my will. (Sgd) Thos. Murphy. Signed Published and declared by the said Testator to and for his last will and Testament in presence of us who in his presence and in presence of each other have on this 30th of January A.D. 1893 Signed and set our names as witnesses thereto (sgd) J. Ryan. (Sgd) Richard Burke
