Will of Richard Murphy Last will and Testament of In the name of God Amen I Richard
Murphy of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, Dealer, do
make publish and declare this paper writing to be my last will and Testament
and I hereby revoke and declare void all former wills by me made or executed.
I give devise and bequeath all property of every description and wheresoever
situated that I may die possessed of or be entitled to at the time of
my death unto my wife Anne Murphy and my children Patrick
J Murphy, Mary J. Murphy (married to John T. O’Mara of St. John’s aforesaid
Druggist) for her sole and separate use free from the debts or control
of her husband). Catherine F. Murphy and Bridget
Murphy free from the
debts or control of any husband they or either of them may have to be
equally divided between them share and share alike. Upon the condition
that they and each of them shall pay yearly and every year the sum of
four dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. And it is my will
and desire that no part of my landed property (except leasehold) or houses
be sold outside of my family. I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Richard Murphy deceased D. M. Browning (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
