In re
Martin Murphy deceased.
This is the last will and testament
of me Martin Murphy of St. John’s in the Island
of Newfoundland laborer
First. I direct that my executor hereinafter
named will first pay my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses
Ssecondly:- I devise and bequeath unto my son William the eastern half
of my property situate on Water St. West in the town of St. John’s aforesaid the
said half being bounded on the East by a lane on the west by my land
and premises at present in the occupancy of one Jabez Ridout the western
boundary being continued from the Eastern wall of the house occupied
by the said Jabez Ridout down to the river which river
is the southern boundary and on the north by Water Street west ------
Thirdly I
devise and bequeath unto my son Daniel the western half of my property
situate on Water St. West in the town of St. John’s aforesaid the
said half being bounded on the west by property of one Nevin and also
by property of one Curtis, on the east by the property already devised
to my son William in the second paragraph herein on
the south by the river and on the north by Water St. West
Fourthly I
hereby appoint Michael Bambrick of St. John’s
aforesaid Road Inspector sole executor of this my last will and testament.
Fifthly. I hereby revoke all testamentary dispositions heretofore made
by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand subscribed by making
my mark at St. John’s aforesaid this thirteenth day of April Anno
Domini one thousand nine hundred and five Martin his x mark Murphy Signed
by the testator by making his mark as and for his last will and testament
in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence
of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses the same
having been first read over and explained M.
