Will of Margaret Murphy from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 184-185 probate year 1928

In re
      Margaret Murphy.       DECEASED.

I, Margaret Murphy of Bay Roberts in the Electoral District of Harbour Grace in the Island of Newfoundland, spinster, hereby revoke all former wills, codicils and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will and testament :-
(1) I appoint Reverend Joseph Murphy D.D. P.P. of Brigus to be the Executor of this my last will and testament.
(2) I direct my Executor to pay all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses.
(3) I give and bequeath the following pecuniary legacies :-
(a) To Reverend Joseph Murphy D. D. P.P. of Brigus the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for his own sole use and benefit absolutely
(b) To Reverend Father William Murphy of Conception Harbour the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for his own sole use and benefit absolutely.
( c) To Reverend father George Thibault of North River the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for his own sole use and benefit absolutely
(d) To my nephew, James Joy of Catalina the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for his own sole use and benefit absolutely.
(e) To Margaret Murphy of Edward of Catalina the sum of Fifty dollars ($50.00) for her own sole use and benefit absolutely.
(f) To Belvedere Orphanage the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00).
(g) To Mount Cashel Orphanage the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00).
(h) To St Clares Mercy Hospital the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00).
(i) To Catherine Lare of Melrose, Catalina, the sum of Fifty dollars ($50.00) for her own sole use and benefit absolutely.
(j) To my nephew, John Murphy of Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States of America, the sum of three hundred dollars ($300.00) for his own sole use and benefit absolutely.
(4) Subject to the payment of my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, I give, devise and bequeath the rest, residue and remainder of my property, estate, and effects unto my Executor upon trust to be disposed of by him in such proportions as he may deem fit,
(a) for masses for the repose of my soul and the souls of my father, mother sister, family and friends, and
(b) for such other charitable object or purpose as he in his absolute discretion may deem proper.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at St John's, Nfld, this 10th day of January A.D. 1928.

Signed, Published and Declared by the above named Testatrix (by the affixing of her mark) as and for her last will and Testament in our presence who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other, all three being present at the same time, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses, the said will first having been read over and explained to the said testatrix
