In re
James L. Murphy deceased.
This is the last will and Testament
of J. L. Murphy of Trepassey Newfoundland District of Placentia and St.
Marys. I appoint Rev H. T. Renouf and my Daughter Margaret
Murphy to
be my Executors I give devise and bequeath unto my Daughters Margaret
Murphy and Antoinette Murphy whatever Monies
to my credit in the Bank of the Royal Bank of Canada and what ever money
in my possession or money owed to me also The Household Furniture while
both are single in case of one marrying before the other the Single Daughter
Claims all until she marries or Die If both marries The Furniture and
money to be equally divided but on no account must The money be taken
out of the Bank in large amounts only what is necessary to Support them
whilst single.
I give devise and bequeath to my Daughter Margaret Murphy The
Land Known as the Cellar land also The Land between Fannys Pond and Island
Pond as shown in grant also Land aback of Anglo American Telegraph Property
with new stable in it
I give devise and bequeath to my Daughter Antoinette
Murphy The Land Known as Hacketts or Ryans Meadow also the meadow known
as Waddletons between Patrick Curtis and Tobins Land
I give devise and bequeath to my son Thomas Murphy The Land known as
Perrys also my Gold watch and chain after his death to be handed over
to his son James also my Fur lined Coat and all other
Clothing and his mothers wedding ring
I give devise and bequeath to my
son John T Murphy all the Land on the Muscle Pond Road
as shown on grant
I give devise and bequeath to the Rev. H. T. Renouf one
Hundred Dollars for Masses. Fifty of which is for the suffering and Forsaken
souls in Purgatory and the remaining Fifty for Masses for myself
I give
devise and bequeath to my Daughters Margaret and Antoinette
Murphy my
Land Property on Hayward Avenue St. John’s. P. J. Summers will give information
I
give devise and bequeath to the Trepassey Convent the sum of Fifty Dollars
The Horse and Carriage Carts etc to be sold and money kept for Household
Keep or Banked The Executors shall immediately pay my Bills and no Division
of moneys made whatever until both Daughters are married the single Daughter
Keeps all In witness whereof I the said J. L. Murphy of
Trepassey Newfoundland have to this my last will and Testament set my
name the Twenty Seventh Day of November one thousand nine Hundred and
Eleven James L. Murphy.
