In re Charles Murcell deceased.
The last will and Testament of
Charles Murcell Senior Trader Herring Neck in the district of Twillingate,
Notre Dame Bay Newfoundland. I give and bequeath the undisturbed possession,
during the term of her natural life only, the premises which are now in
the occupation to my daughter Eliza, at present the wife of Valentine
Mainey,
fisherman and at her decease, the whole thereof to revert to my general
Estate & to be included in the disposition following.
I give
and bequeath to my son William (Murcell, planter Herring Neck) & to
the male issue of my son John deceased viz. Thomas & Alfred Murcell now residing in California and White Bay respectively, to their male heirs & assigns
for ever, all my lands & premises wheresoever & whatsoever erected
thereon for their sole use and benefit.
I give and bequeath any
monies of which I may be possessed at the time of my decease to my Grandson
William Thomas, son of John and Hannah Murcell for his sole
use and benefit.
I give and bequeath to my son William Murcell and to my daughter
Eliza Mainey to be equally shared between them the whole of
my personal effects not mentioned hereinbefore - viz beds bedding clothing
or of whatsoever kind I may be possessed at the time of my decease.
I appoint
the Revd George Seymour Chamberlain Clerk in Holy Orders & Incumbent, Herring
Neck the sole executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof
I have here set my hand and subscribed my signature this twenty ninth day
of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & ninety
six Charles his X mark Murcell Signed in
the presence of us who in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed
our names John Edney Alfred Hussey. Witnesses Herring
Neck December 29th 1896
