Last Will and Testament of
James Morris Sr. of Trinity
Planter deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me James Morris Senior of Trinity, Trinity Bay, in the Island of Newfoundland, Trader and planter being of sound mind and in good health, thus publish and declare my last will and Testament. Revoking and annulling all former dispositions of my property. I give and bequeath to my eldest son Joseph Morris all my land, fishing room, houses and tenements, fields, gardens etc situate in the settlement of Cockles Cove. I also give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Morris aforesaid all my house, household furniture and all utensils therein or thereunto belonging together with all my interest in certain lands houses, stores, wharves and water privileges connected therewith situate in or on Harvey's Cove and Dock Lane together with all my interest in certain lands situate near "Hogs Nose" And also all my interest in the trade and business now existing and carried on under the Firm and title of James Morris & Sons including all vessels, gear, fishing tackle, craft etc. with all my estate real and personal unto my said eldest son Joseph Morris. And I do hereby appoint my aforesaid son Joseph Morris as sole executor to this my last will and Testament - Dated this eighteenth day of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty. (Sgd) James his x mark Morris Senr. Signed acknowledged and declared by the said James Morris Senior as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who being present at the same time in his presence, at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Witnesses (sgd) Gilbert Hy. Cole J.P. (Sgd) Augustus Tibbs carpenter
